Rice Bags

I hadn't thought how much J would love playing with bean bags until she snagged some from the church library and held onto them throughout its entirety.  I did however think about all the germs that were most likely seeped into the very old & worn fabric!

As you know I have those good old scraps of fabric, you know the ones you constantly see on here.  Really I should be posting 101 ways to use the same few scraps of fabric you have lying around...  So I put in a few stitches, made a homemade funnel out of paper and instead of running to the store for beans, used rice that I had in the cupboard already.  They were an instant hit.  However getting the babes to hold still while I snapped a few pictures, that's a different story, they're just too fun to shake.

Mental Note- It's the simple and most often homemade toys that kids like best.

What homemade toys have you made that your kids love?

You can fill a sock with rice, tie it off, microwave it for 2 minutes and it's perfect as a heat pack on the back of your neck for headache relief. And you can use it over and over again.
